PMLD Teacher (Full-Time / Long-Term)\n\nUxbridge | Specialist School Setting\nSeptember Start | MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance\n\nSupply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly supportive and specialist school in the Uxbridge area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teacher. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them to access learning, communication, and life skills in a nurturing and structured environment.\n\nThis role would suit a patient, empathetic, and highly adaptable teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and experienced in supporting pupils with complex medical and learning needs.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a PMLD Teacher, you will deliver highly personalised, sensory-based learning to pupils with complex needs, focusing on communication, interaction, and engagement. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ development through a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPlan and deliver creative, multi-sensory, and highly individualised lessons for pupils with PMLD\nDevelop and implement EHCPs and personalised learning programmes\nSupport pupils with complex medical, physical, and sensory needs\nUse specialist communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and intensive interaction\nCreate a safe, calm, and stimulating learning environment\nMonitor, assess, and record small steps of progress against individual targets\nWork closely with teaching assistants to ensure high levels of care and learning support\nCollaborate with therapists, medical staff, parents, and carers\nPromote pupils’ independence, engagement, and wellbeing\n\nRequirements\n\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable (candidates with extensive SEN experience may be considered)\nExperience working with pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex needs\nStrong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches\nCalm, patient, and nurturing teaching style\nConfidence supporting pupils with physical and medical needs\nStrong teamwork and communication skills\nAbility to work full-time in the Princes Risborough area\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience in a specialist or PMLD setting\nTraining in Makaton, PECS, or sensory-based learning approaches\nKnowledge of moving and handling procedures\nExperience working alongside external professionals (SALT, OT, physiotherapists)\nTeam Teach or behaviour support training\n\nWhy This Role?\n\nWork in a highly specialised and supportive educational setting\nMake a profound difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs\nOpportunity for ongoing CPD and specialist SEN training\nLong-term role offering stability and career development\nBe part of a collaborative, caring, and multi-disciplinary team\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are a passionate SEN Teacher looking for a deeply rewarding role supporting pupils with PMLD in the Princes Risborough area, we would love to hear from you.\n\n | \n24/7 Support: \n\nAll successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and meet Safer Recruitment standards
